Just like last year, I’m sharing my 2022 writing goals. I only achieved one of the goals I wanted to for 2021, so let’s see if I can do better this year.
Get My Book(s) Professionally Edited
I have a three book series I’m ready to put out into the world, but first they all need to be edited by professionals. Professionals I must scour the web for, reach out to for prices and availability, then book, usually a few months in advance. This means the first book in my series will almost definitely not be ready for publishing this year. But there’s always 2023.
Find a Cover Designer
The books in my series need covers. Finding a cover designer is another tedious process that involves research, reaching out, and finding someone who understands the look I’m going for and the vibe of my books. Then there’s the time it takes to actually design the covers, let me see them, and approve them. Hopefully by the end of the year I’ll have all three of my covers done.
Decide if I Should Go Back on Facebook
Years ago, I quit Facebook. I was never a big fan of the site and after my good friend quit and told me how good it felt, I decided to follow in her footsteps and haven’t ever regretted it. The problem is, a lot of best-selling self-published authors mention how much FB helps them market and sell their books. I really, really don’t want to restore my account, but if it helps my book sales and connects me with fans? I think I might have to.
Boost My Website
My website is pretty boring. I’m no web developer or designer. I know the basics. But at some point, hopefully a lot of fans will be visiting and I need to make the site easier to navigate and more interesting. I can either do that myself or hire someone. In the long run, it’s probably better to learn how to design my website myself, but I would much rather be using that time to write or edit. No matter what happens, there will be some major changes to jessicarobertsauthor.com this year.
So there you have them, my 2022 goals. Short and sweet and not too ambitious, if I do say so myself. Let’s hope that means I’ll actually be able to accomplish them.
Here’s to 2022!
