One of the hardest things about being an unpublished writer is not being able to talk about what you’re working on.
Okay, I can talk about what I’m working on but I can’t spill too much because I want to save the fun details for the future, when I’m ready to publish.
But I’d like share more about what I’m writing, so every month I’ll post an update without giving away any spoilers.
So, without further ado, here’s what I wrote in May 2022:
-Finished draft six of the friends to lovers standalone I started working on last month
I overhauled the whole plot and came up with a new one…only to realize after finishing that certain, big parts of the plot don’t make much sense. The good news is that the other day, I came up with a better plot, so at least I have a plan for the next draft.
-Finished developmental edits of book two in a three-book series I WILL be publishing next year
I had this book edited by the same lovely editor who worked on my first book and she gave me some great feedback and suggestions once again to improve my manuscript even more. I’m so thrilled that she’ll also be working on the third book in the series next month.
-Started draft six of another friends to lovers standalone
I swear not all my standalones are friends to lovers. However, I am struggling a bit to fine tune the plot of this one, just like my other one. Maybe it’s the universe telling me to stop writing the friends to lovers trope? Could be, but I won’t stop because I love that trope.
That’s all for now. See you next month with new updates!
