One of the hardest things about being an unpublished writer is not being able to talk about what you’re working on.
Okay, I can talk about what I’m working on but I can’t spill too much because I want to save the fun details for the future, when I’m ready to publish.
But I’d like share more about what I’m writing, so every month I’ll post an update without giving away any spoilers.
So, without further ado, here’s what I wrote in April 2022:
–Finished draft one of book three in a new series
This is the four book series I began writing last month, and I’m very happy with how this book turned out.
-Finished draft one of book four in a new series
That’s right, I finished all four books in the series! I’m thrilled, even though I know I have a lot of editing to do in the future. But it’s always so satisfying to complete a series.
-Started draft six of a standalone I began working on five years ago
This particular book began as more women’s fiction, and then when I realized I wanted to write romance, I had to make a lot of changes. Unfortunately, when I read through the last draft I wrote a year ago, I quickly discovered a lot of problems and I’m now working on overhauling the whole plot. I can’t say I’m very happy about that but it’s part of the process of becoming a better writer and writing books that are publish-worthy.
